This is a short video excerpt is based in part on one of my lectures titled “Researching Your Civil War Ancestor: A Comprehensive Study”.   The format is in Windows Media Video (.wmv) and can easily be viewed.

This clip details conducting Civil War Genealogy Research at the National Archives in Washington, DC-The Archives has many different records to offer researchers. One set of records pertaining to the Civil War include the Compiled Service Records. This video addresses those documents at the Archives and gives examples of information you may discover about your ancestors.
